About this policy
SafaLens is an ingredient research and reference tool, not a religious authority or halal certification service. SafaLens is provided by Priory Labs and is an ingredient research and reference tool, not a religious authority or halal certification service.
Photos and local history
Ingredient-label photos are processed on your device for text recognition. The current MVP does not upload those photos for remote classification. Scan history is stored locally; there are no user accounts or cross-device history sync.
Remote ingredient checks
When enabled, remote checks can send unresolved ingredient names, your selected madhab, app version, and platform to the SafaLens backend. Its Cloudflare service may use Gemini and Groq to help classify unresolved ingredients. Label photos are not sent with these checks.
Feedback
Helpful or incorrect feedback may send a scan-history identifier, feedback value and timestamp, verdict, madhab, and ingredient-result metadata to the backend. Accepted feedback is stored using Supabase to support product and reference-data improvements.
Analytics and advertising
The reviewed MVP does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs. This policy and store disclosures must change before a release introduces those services.
Accounts and children
The MVP does not include sign-in, user profiles, or account-based email collection. SafaLens is a general food-reference tool and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes
